Commuter Benefits Program

Transit Commuting
Please be advised that the monthly pre-tax transit commuter benefit limit has increased from $115 to $120 for the tax year commencing January 1, 2009. However, an expense paid in December 2008 for a pass to be used in January 2009 would be limited to the 2008 pre-tax limit of $115.

You will be able to take full advantage of the increase for expenses paid in January 2009 after your monthly election amount is updated with your benefit administrator. All orders paid in January 2009 will be updated to the new limit of $120. Any amount over the $120 limit will be designated as post-tax funds and are not eligible for a pre-tax deduction.

If you plan on taking advantage of the full $120 pre-tax transit benefit in 2009 you must contact your benefit administrator to change your monthly election. Contact your benefits administrator with questions.
